Westway Adult Football is an initiative set up to deliver quality training, coaching and game sessions for players looking to improve their overall performance. Courses are held throughout the year. You will have the opportunity to develop your tactical knowledge and technical ability with the help of FA qualified coaches. Each session will end with a half hour small-sided game.

The one-off Westway Sports Centre Registration fee applies (£5 standard, £2.50 concession)

How Can I Get Involved?

Unless you have taken part in one of our courses before, you will need obtain a registration form by emailing [email protected]

Once you’ve registered onto a course, you’re expected to turn up regularly for sessions. In the event that you’re unable to attend, you will need to notify the coach as soon as possible.The reason for this is that sessions are carefully planned according to the number of players taking part. You can notify us of absence either by emailing [email protected] or [email protected] 

What Can I Expect?

The course sessions are taken by two Westway FA qualified coaches.

 The emphasis on the course is threefold

• Developing technique and tactical play

• Maintaining fitness

• Having fun 

 Here is how a typical 90 minute training session shapes up:

• Warm-up 15mins

• Technique and ball skills 25mins

• Tactical knowledge 20mins

• Small-sided game 30mins

Courses are run at the Westway Sports Centre, which predicts excellent facilities including parking, changing rooms, showers and cafe. The training pitch has synthetic 3G grass surface and is really comfortable to play on. Suggested footwear is astro trainers or moulded studs.
