Westway Climbing is proud to announce the launch of our Urban Edge Festival. We aim to provide a showcase for the more extreme sports that go on at Westway. These sports now include freerunning and bike polo as well as climbing, and our practitioners are world renowned.

Reel Rock 8 film tour at the Portobello Pop-up

The programme is being billed as the ‘wildest and most diverse yet’ and presents an extraordinary collection of short films. Features include the epic clash on Mt. Everest with Ueli Steck and Simone Moro, trad climbing with Britain's own Hazel Findlay, first ascents in Borneo and a look back at the rock’n roll of 70’s climbing with the Stonemasters. It means a lot to us here at Westway to be screening such an inspiration to our sport, in the Portobello Pop-up Cinema. Just off Portobello Road, this is another Westway space that has been transformed from brownfield into a boutique space by the Westway Development Trust. It has an intimate and handshaped feel. With its own bar, a big screen and a big sound to match. This screening promises to be the most atmospheric of the tour. Wrap-up warm in all your climbing gear; the cinema can be chilly.

Each ticket purchase is entitled to a free casual climb at Westway or Bouldercise session for ‘non-climbers’. Vouchers will  be handed out on the night and are transferable.
