Learn all you need to know to climb indoors safely and unsupervised
Gain all the knowledge and practice you need to take the Competency Demonstration and register as a climber at Westway
All equipment is provided including climbing shoes

The beginners climbing course is designed for the complete novice or people who have perhaps done a little climbing in the past but do not have a grasp of the technical aspects of the sport. Choose an evening Monday – Thursday and complete the course over 3 weeks, or cover the six hours in one weekend. The course is suitable for ages 18+
You should wear comfortable clothes – and lockers take a £1 deposit or a small padlock.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7.30 – 9.30pm
Weekends 10am – 1pm or 2pm – 5pm

Goal

In order to register for unsupervised climbing once you have completed your beginners course, you will need to undertake the Competency Demonstration on your next visit (after the last session of the beginners’ course). Please note: we will generally not allow those taking this course to immediately supervise others in the climbing centre. We recommend you spend at least three months practising your new-found skills before introducing the activity to your friends.
