Testimonials
L Regan, Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School
I have been taking students from the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School to the Westway Climbing Centre for approximately 8 years. Each week we have been meet by enthusiastic and positive instructors who have a love for climbing and are always keen to educate and improve the students under their supervision.
The centre and its staff are extremely warm and welcoming, and yet always vigilant regarding safety. The staff are always attentive and caring for the young people they look after, building affirmative and constructive relationships. The inherent challenge of climbing is carefully controlled and crafted to make every student feel they have achieved and advanced no matter their level, and encouraging progress throughout. The instructors knowledge is outstanding and each student feels confident in the instructor and advice given from belaying to technical moves.
The Westway provides excellent equipment and a facility that is superb. The opportunity and experience have been wonderful and It has been a pleasure to be able offer this activity to the students of our school.
Charles Ben-Nathan, Latymer upper School
We are extremely fortunate to have the Westway centre close enough to our school so that we can offer climbing as an option to our pupils. The facility is fantastic, with a wide range of walls that vary in challenge and include features such as simulated rock face. The instructors are outstanding and take excellent care of pupils and teachers alike, ensuring that we are enjoying the sport whilst staying safe and also progressing in our confidence and capabilities. There is a truly friendly and fun vibe that underlies our afternoon sessions; whether it is attempting a harder route on a high wall or working on our technique on the bouldering wall we are encouraged to achieve more than we thought we could, and often come away pleasantly surprised. Climbing is also great for the pupils’ fitness; how often do you get to have an intensive physical work-out and smile the whole way through?
