Cristiano Costa is a qualified physiotherapist from Brunel University with a BSc (Hons). To further develop his manual therapy skills Cristiano completed in 2009 a MACP post graduate training at Queen Mary's University. He has been practising different sports from a very young age and for the past 22 years he has been a devoted climber.
Cristiano has 11 years experience working for the NHS in the physiotherapy department. For the past seven years he has also been working in the private sector at different clinics in central London at Harley Street, Covent Garden and Holborn to name a few, treating high elite athletes from different sport activities such as tennis, hockey, cricket and football players, as well as cyclists, runners, climbers and high performance level ballet dancers.
What is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy aids to restore movement and function in individuals affected by injury, illness, altered biomechanics, over use or by other disabilities.
How does it work?
Altered body function is restored following biomechanical assessment to identify a tailored treatment to each individual client. This could be delivered by the use of manual therapy such as joint mobilisation and manipulation. Exercise therapy stretches, myofascial release and acupuncture to name a few of the different modalities within the scope of physiotherapy.
