Tiny Tots Climbing Club 5- 6 year olds
These sessions are for our youngest climbers who have shown a commitment to climbing and a desire to continue climbing and improve. Bookable each term in advance subject to availability.
£126 per term. Additional sibling £100/ term
Monday 4-5pm, 5-6pm, Tuesday 5-6pm, Wednesday 4:30-5:30pm, Sunday 10-11am
National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS) 7- 12 year olds
NICAS junior club is run on a termly basis for 7 - 12 year olds. The sessions follow the NICAS syllabus to enable the children to acquire all the skills needed to be a competent climber. It is also a chance for them to interact with other young climbers and develop their team working skills. We anticipate that they will remain in the same group with the same instructor for the full term.
There are different levels and the child needs to complete each level before moving up to the next. Children new to NICAS Junior Club must start at level 1. Every time they pass a level they will be awarded a certificate and they will be moved to a new group in the next level at the start of a new term.
All children will be required to have a NICAS book to attend the session. The cost of the book is not included in the course price and it will cost £5 for level 1 and 2 and £8.50 for levels 3- 5.
Level 4 is an advanced session for children who have passed level 3 and would like to start learning the skills of lead climbing. If they have passed level 3 but do not want to start lead climbing they can remain in a level 3 group.

How do I decide which group my child should be booked onto?

If the child has NOT attended Junior Club before = Level 1

If the child HAS attended Junior club before and is completing their NICAS level one= Level 1

If the child is on the NICAS second level =Level 2

If the child is on the NICAS third level =Level 3

If the child has passed their level 3 NICAS certificate =they can continue to attend a level 3 group OR they can attend a level 4 group focused around learning the skills to pass their Junior test and to begin learning to lead climb. Level 4 is an advanced session so if the child is still too young or not yet ready they can remain in a level 3 session until they are ready!
