So Why have we done it?

As you will have noticed, prices for monthly passes have seen a substantial increase this financial year. So why, in these troubled times, have we hiked our prices so much you may ask?

As a social enterprise, The Westway Development Trust, which owns and manages the Westway Sports Centre operates to support and benefit the local community.The Westway is not a local authority run centre, and needs to stand on it’s own two feet financially. The money received from customers using our facilities is put directly back into the community through our various sports and other programmes.

Unfortunately, like many organisations, The Trust has been negatively affected by the current global financial crisis. Our rental income, which in the past has been the biggest financial contributor for the Trust has been particularly badly hit, and as a result, we have had to look at other ways of ensuring our survival in these difficult times.

This has meant looking at our pricing at the sports centre, and has resulted in the increase in monthly pass prices.

How does all of this affect you, the Customer?

Hopefully not very much. It is true that we have increased the price of a monthly pass by £7,00, but we have taken this into consideration and looked at ways that we can help customers avoid this hike. By purchasing your monthly pass via direct debit you still pay last year’s price of £40.00.

This means that you make a saving of £84.00 per year.

What If I go away for two months of the year?

Consider the following:

12 month’s worth of direct debit payments @ £40.00 per month = £480.00

10 month’s worth of non-direct debit payments @£47.00 per month = £470.00

So that works out to only £10 more per year if you pay by direct debit and you get an additional two months worth of climbing in.

So how do I go about setting up my direct debit?

Our reception team will glad help you in setting up your direct debit.

All you have to do is:

Bring in your bank details, including your bank name, sort code and account number.

Fill out the direct debit form and read through and sign the terms and conditions.

Remember, your direct debit will run from the first of the month and we need two weeks to process it. So if you provide your details before the 15th of the month, we will have enough time to process your application form and payment will be taken from your account from the first of the month. If however you are not able to submit your application form before the 15th of the month, your direct debit will only be put in place from the first of the following month and we will require payment for the remainder of the month that you are currently in, plus the whole of the next month.
