THEN OUR NEW IMPROVER'S LEAGUE MIGHT BE JUST WHAT YOU NEED.
WHAT: WIBL (Westway Improvers Bouldering League) has been designed with you in mind. A bouldering competition with a difference, the WIBL rewards you on how much you improve from month to month, rather then simply looking for the best climbers to give the prizes to (because let's face it - they get enough praise from being so darn good).
Each month, we will reset the old bouldering wall with problems for those who are just getting into bouldering, or not quite strong enough to boulder with the big guns. Grades will range from V0 to V5, so plenty of scope and opportunity for beginners and intermediates to improve and get stronger.
All you have to do is buy a scorecard from reception (Scorecards cost £1.00 each), climb the problems at your own pace over the duration of the month and then hand your scorecard in at the end of the month to be counted. The rules for each problem and how it all works can be found on the back of your scorecard.
WHEN: The Improvers League runs for each calender month. New problems are set on or around the 29th of the month for the next month's round.
PRIZES: Most improved cimber wins a Monthly Pass

KITTY WALLACE CLIMBS 8a!
Local youngster Kitty Wallace has become possibly the youngest ever British female to climb the grade of 8a on an outdoor established route. During a recent trip to Kalymnos Kitty successfully redpointed the route, taking advantage of mentoring from coaching guru Neil Gresham.
On the same day Kitty also managed on-sight assents of 7c and 7b+.
